Fashion does not need to try hard. Real luxury should be easy to wear and complement your personal style. Whether you lean trendy, classic or minimal, these sporty jackets were my favorites for fall and winter 2018–2019. None of these mentions were endorsements.
1. Plaid bomber jacket
A plaid bomber combines classic athletic style with feminine tailoring. Houndstooth was one of the season’s biggest patterns, and the Gap version I found hit that sweet spot between sportswear and polish.
2. Futuristic vest
Prada blended upscale sportswear with an industrial edge. The runway vest paired a combat-inspired shape with neon pink fur accents for a strong, futuristic statement.
3. Aviator jacket
Oversized aviator jackets feel timeless and free-spirited. I loved a suede ASOS version with a relaxed shape, an optional belt and soft fur-covered lapels.
4. Puffer jacket
Puffers began as practical outerwear for Arctic expeditions and keep evolving. That season brought bell sleeves, glossy finishes and bright colors. I would pair one with black military boots and a pom-pom toque.
5. Sports bomber
The windbreaker bomber offers the best of both worlds: weather protection and a sporty silhouette. Look for functional details such as pockets, warm lining and rib-knit cuffs.
